Tour C:
Hair Products, Trailers, Rosin Chemicals, Cotton Gins, and
Handmade
Kayaks.
8:15 AM departure
The first stop is Carson Products, manufacturer of ethnic hair care
products
and cosmetics. Then to Great Dane, where tractor trailers are lifted through
the air in the production line, and the Savannah plant of the Hercules
Corporation, where pine rosins become the basis for a variety of adhesive
products. After lunch, stops include the Lummus cotton gin (see Friday, Tour
A), and the craftsmen who produce handmade kayaks in the former terminal of a
local railroad. Maximum of 30 persons.
