Tour F:

Brunswick - Frozen Food, Jet Refurbishing, Rice, Rosins, and
Fragrance Chemicals.

7:45 AM departure

Join SIA President Sandy Norman for a tour of her old stomping grounds in
Brunswick, Georgia. First stop is Seapak, a processor of frozen shrimp and
several other frozen food lines. Then on to Stambaugh Aviation, where a small
crew refurbishes and maintains jet aircraft. After lunch at a historic rice
plantation, we'll tour the Hercules-Brunswick Plant, a 1917 facility that uses
stumps imported from Central America as the basis for countless industrial
chemicals, and then to Millennium, producers of fragrance chemical products-
the sweetest smelling chemical plant youÌll find. Additional photo stops to
record the new and old bridges over the Brunswick ship channel, the Butler
Island steam rice mill, and the unfinished 1917 picric acid plant. Insect
repellent highly recommended.
