Tour A:
Baxley/Glennville 7:45 AM departure
The conference begins with a trip into the piney woods and Vidalia onion
country south and west of Savannah. Planned tour stops include
a private family farm that has a mission of preserving the machines of
GeorgiaÌs rural past (including a most impressive steam-powered cotton gin) an
interesting site that operates both antiquated and modern rosin production
technologies, and the worldÌs largest packer of Vidalia onions. We finish with
a return to Savannah for a tour of a forest products research center. Lunch
included. Hard hats required for this tour; please either bring one along or purchase one
from conference
organizers.
