Desegregation in Savannah

 

Daffin Park was the site of a "Play in", where a group of African American youths were arrested for trespassing while playing basketball at Daffin Park. Prior to integration in Savannah, Crawford Square housed the only playground and basketball courts for African Americans in the Historic District.
