TYBEE LIGHTHOUSE

Historic Tybee Lighthouse is now part of a museum complex that also includes exhibits in a World War II coastal defense bunker.  Access to the beach and the mouth of the Savannah River is close by.  In the neighborhood are earlier military structures that date to the period (circa 1900) when the north end of the island was occupied by Fort Screven.  A handsome row of officers residences and the officers clubhouse dominate the landscape.
