Noble Jones established Savannah's first planation here at Wormsloe. Located off Skidaway Road just south of Ferguson Avenue, it is now a state owned recreation area with nature trails and periodically scheduled programs with costumed interpretors. Noble Jones descendants still live adjacent to the plantation.
Ruins of the original-fortified plantation house and family burial plot are also at Wormsloe. The house is constructed of tabby, a local form of masonry made from processed oyster shells.
